Let’s keep praying for and influencing our adult children and their families.

Updated: Jan 12, 2023

Let’s keep setting an example for them of spiritual faithfulness throughout all of life. Let’s pray fervently for them and the temptations they will face in life.

When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, "Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually (Job 1.5).

Dr Hal Habecker's Comments

I want to pray for my adult kids and grandkids. If I live long enough, I want to pray for my great grandkids. I want to pray for younger generations around me, in my extended family or in my church community. Just as Job interceded for his family, I desire to pray for my family and friends. I want to pray for them by name. I want to pray for their challenges, problems, and dreams. I want to pray that they will resist the temptations of the world and of the devil. I want to pray that they will keep growing spiritually. Then I think of the discipline that is required to pray intensely for all these things. Will I have the necessary discipline to pray like this? To intercede for them daily in all of these ways? I pray that I will. “Help me, O God, to be that kind of prayer warrior for those following me in my life.”
